Our mural is located on the wall beside and above the door of the Spanish classroom. Above the door is an image of a mosaic dragon. This dragon is representative of the dragon found on the steps of the Gaudi House in Barcelona. To the left of the door are two separate images that call to mind the culture of Spain. Below the door stop is the image of a matador and his foe. Behind the man and bull is a crowd of spectators protected by a retaining wall. Above the door stop is a Flamenco dancer. The lovely dancer is dressed in red and shades of pink. Her dress fades from a sultry shade of dark red into lighter and lighter pinks as it moves through the layers of ruffled fabrics. Our dancer is framed by a sunset as she dances the night away. We wanted to set our doorway apart from the rest of the school while still keeping it relevant to the material taught in the classroom beyond the doorway.
